Could Bam Or Jaylen Brown Come Out As Finals MVP?

Bam Adebayo has +3300 odds to win the NBA Finals MVP.
Jaylen Brown has +2500 odds to win the finals MVP.

MIAMI – The NBA Finals are set to begin on Thursday, June 2 and there has been no team set to play in them yet. There is already betting opportunities for the Finals though with the odds on who will win the NBA Finals MVP.

2022 NBA Finals MVP Odds

Stephen Curry +100
Jayson Tatum +225
Jimmy Butler +550
Klay Thompson +1100
Draymond Green +1400
Jaylen Brown +3500
Marcus Smart +2800
Bam Adebayo +3300

Looking at the Eastern Conference players, both Jimmy Butler and Jayson Tatum lead with Tatum having the slight edge on Butler on legal online betting sites. However, there could be some value in each of their sidekicks to come away with the award in Bam Adebayo and Jaylen Brown.

Bam Adebayo Finals MVP Odds

This has been a playoff performance to forget for Bam Adebayo. After putting up solid numbers in the regular season with 19.1 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 3.4 apg, and 0.8 blk, his numbers have plummeted in the playoffs. Throughout the postseason, Bam has been averaging 14.5 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 2.7 apg, and 0.8 blk.

He has failed to break even 17 ppg in any series thus far and now in the Eastern Conference Finals, he has been held to 10 or less points and under 10 rebounds in all but one game.

It is safe to say that if the Miami Heat goes on to win the NBA Finals that it would be Jimmy Butler’s NBA odds to cash and not Bam’s as Butler has put the team on his back all postseason long.

Butler went from 21.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 5.5 apg, and 1.6 stl in the regular season to 26.5 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 4.6 apg, and 2 stl in the playoffs.

Jaylen Brown Finals MVP Odds

For the Boston Celtics, Jaylen Brown has a better chance of overtaking Jayson Tatum to win the finals MVP than Bam does of Butler. Brown has put up over 22 ppg in each series thus far and has averaged 23 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 3.4 apg, and 1.3 stl in the playoffs overall. His numbers in the regular season were almost identical having gone for 23.6 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 3.5 apg, and 1.1 stl.

Not to discredit Jayson Tatum and his 27.2 ppg throughout the playoffs, but if they go on to the Finals and their opponents shift the defensive focus to him, it leaves Brown with the opportunity to pick up his numbers even more.
