Backing up the strong push by the Vols is that they are currently ranked the number one team in the country by four of the five major affiliates that release rankings each week as they sit with a country-leading 56-7 record.

Not to mention, they have won their last 15 games in a row and have also won 19 of their last 20 games. Eight of which they scored double digits in including an 18 run outing against Belmont and a 27 run outing against Mississippi State in which they set a single-game record for home runs hit with seven.

Diving Deeper Into The Vols Season

For starters, they are in the top-15 in the country with the 11th best team batting average in the country at .311 which is also the third-best amongst teams remaining in the playoffs. They are also top-10 in hits for the 8th most at 678 hits this season.

That also leads them to have the most home runs hit this season by a landslide at 150 while the next best team has 135. As for total runs scored, they put up a whopping 592 which is 27 more than the next team.

Their pitching has also been on point as they have shut out their opponents on nine separate occasions this season which is the tied for the second-most in the country.

Overall, Tennessee’s College World Series odds have shortened at any chance they’ve gotten meaning betting on them sooner rather than later could be a beneficial move.
